The Hastings branch had an away walk on the Whakamaharatanga Walkway at Bay View on Sunday 27 June 2021. The walkway crosses farmland through two old pā sites with terraces, pits, and middens (shell dumps). Most of the farmland was underwater prior to the Napier earthquake in 1931.
The day had been planned and organised by Jack who stayed back on the BBQ. We arrived back to a welcome feed and cuppa. Thanks, Jack.
