Nov 2006: Barry’s second overseas outing
By Gerard van de Ven
Hopefully many of you enjoyed reading the (yeah, a bit long) story of Barry Lennox’ experience of the London Marathon. As you may know, Barry has just done the New York Marathon. (Why is he getting all the good ones hey? Guess you have to be retired before you can start thinking of this). Barry is probably still on the way back home at the moment I am writing this (Tuesday afternoon). We can still show you something about how he did though.

With technology at our disposal we have Barry’s 5km times, plus the half marathon and finish time. The table to the right gives you all the details.
Translating this to a picture gives us the graph below. This shows us that Barry ran a very nice flat race. He just slowed down a little bit towards the end.
But Barry achieved his goal of running inside the 4 hours. So he will not doubt be very happy at the moment. When you read this Barry: Well done!
Did you know Barry even got a mention on the news this morning at Classic Hits 89.5? That was just wonderful.
